Judgment

This writ petition has been filed for seeking a direction to the respondents 3 to 5 to take all necessary steps to afford police protection and to ensure that election to the Ezhacherry Service Co-operative Bank Ltd. No. 1548 is conducted in the peaceful manner and no member of the bank entitled to vote on 29.10.2023 is obstructed from exercising their right to vote within the territories of the bank, and also a direction to the 6th respondent to make arrangements to video graph the entry points and the premises of the polling stations at NSS Govt. L.P. School, Ezhacherry from 8.A.M, till the end of polling on 29.10.2023.
Having heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the learned Government Pleader appearing for respondents 1, 3, 4 and 5. The learned Standing Counsel appearing for respondents 2, 6 and 7.
In the above view of the matter, there will be a direction to the respondents 3 to 5 to provide adequate police protection to maintain law and order for the smooth conduct of the election to the Ezhacherry Service Co-operative Bank Ltd. No. 1548 schedule to be held on 29.10.2023. The petitioner shall be permitted to video graph the entire election process under the supervision of the Returning Officer and in a manner ensuring that the secrecy of polling is not affected in any manner. The expenses for video graphing shall be met by the Bank.
