Judgment
Jaswant Singh,J.—Prayer in this petition u/s 482 Code of Criminal Procedure, is for seeking protection to life and liberty of both the Petitioners, who claim themselves to be major and allegedly performed marriage on 29.11.2010 against the wishes of parents (Respondent No. 4 and 5) of Petitioner No. 1-wife. Having performed marriage against the wishes of aforesaid Respondents, now Petitioners apprehend threat to their life at the hands of said Respondents. It is further stated that the couple is residing at Patti Sekhwan Road, Barnala,Tehsil and Distt. Barnala, whereas Respondents 4 and 5 are residents of Village Kahneke,Tehsil Tapa, Distt. Barnala, Punjab.
After hearing the learned Counsel for the Petitioners and keeping in view the directions issued by the Hon''ble Supreme Court in the case of Lata Singh Vs. State of U.P. and Another, , the present petition is disposed of with a direction to Petitioners to present themselves before SSP Barnala, and to make a detailed representation expressing therein their grievance and threat perception. In case, any such representation is made, the SSP concerned shall look into the matter personally and take appropriate action, if so warranted in accordance with law.
Petition stands disposed of.
