Petitioner having admitted to the Five year LL.B degree course under the semester scheme during the academic year 2007-08 in the 2nd respondent-college, affiliated to the 1st respondent-University, alleging that the respondents prevented him from appearing for the examinations conducted by the 1st respondent, has presented this petition for a writ of mandamus to direct respondents to receive the examination fee for the 7th semester of 5th year law course and permit him to appear for examination in December 2011. On the strength of an interim order dt. 19.11.2011 petitioner appeared for the examination in the 7th semester of Five year LL.B course scheduled during December, 2011.

In identical circumstances, a learned Single Judge by order dt. 2.2.2012 in W.P. Nos. 41301-10/2011 in the case of Raghu Kiran Y.S. & others -v-Bangalore University & others, disposed off the petitions recording the submission of the Learned Counsel for the Bangalore University that the Academic Council of the University had passed a resolution dt. 13.1.2012 resolving to grant fully carry over to the students of Five Year LL.B course subject to the condition that they have to complete the course within a period of 10 academic years from the date of their admission to the course, and to declare the results of the examination in which the petitioners therein appeared pursuant to the interim orders and to appear in the examinations in accordance with the Regulations of the University.

Learned Counsel for the respondent-University does not dispute that the facts of this case and the questions for decision making are identical with that of aforesaid case and therefore, this petition is accordingly ordered in the like terms. Respondent No. 1-University is directed to declare the result of the examinations in which the petitioner appeared during December 2011 and permit the petitioner to appear for further examinations as and when scheduled in accordance with the Regulations of the University.
