Judgment

Petitioners approached this Court with a prayer to quash the proceedings against them in Crime No.575 of 2010 of Chilakalaguda P.S., Secunderabad registered for the offences under Sections 355 IPC, 3(x) of the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 and 156(3) Cr.P.C.
Today, when the matter is taken up for hearing, learned counsel for both the parties stated that the matter has been compromised between the parties.
The petitioners-accused and the 2nd respondent-complainant are present before this Court. The complainant filed a photostat copy of his driving licence bearing No.DLFAP010405972001 in proof of his identity. It is reported by the complainant that the matter is settled out of Court between himself and the petitioners at the intervention of the elders and friends, and the same is reduced into writing. He also filed an affidavit narrating the same.
This Court perused the entire material on record.
In view of the compounding of the offence, the petitioners are directed to pay an amount of Rs.5,000/- (Rupees five thousand only) towards costs before the Legal Services Authority and accordingly, they have paid the same before the said authority vide receipt No.55465, dated 04-01-2012.
In view of the fact that the matter is settled between the parties, this Court is of the view that continuation of the criminal proceedings against the petitioners - accused would serve no purpose, and in view of the guidelines laid down by Hon''ble Supreme Court, by exercising inherent powers u/s 482 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, the further proceedings against the accused can be quashed by this Court.
Therefore, the Criminal Petition is allowed and the further proceedings against the petitioners - accused in Crime No.575 of 2010 of Chilakalaguda P.S., Secunderabad, are hereby quashed. Affidavit of the petitioners - accused be made as part of this order.
Miscellaneous petitions, if any, filed in this Criminal Petition shall stand closed.
