This matter is taken up by video conferencing mode. Heard Mr. Mishra, learned counsel for the petitioner and Ms. Mishra, learned Addl. Standing
Counsel.
According to Mr. Mishra, grievance of the petitioner in this case pertains to non-registration of his complaint dated 13.05.2021 under Annexure-1
series as F.I.R. by the I.I.C., Dhenkanal Town Police Station (opposite party no.2) though the same reveals commission of cognizable offences. He
further submits that though against such inaction, the petitioner has approached the Superintendent of Police, Dhenkanal (opposite party no.3) by filing
a grievance petition dated 15.05.2021 under Annexure-2 series sent through Registered Post, however, till date no decision has been taken on the
same. In such background, he prays that necessary direction be given to opposite party no.3 to take a decision on his grievance petition within a
specific time period.
Considering the submissions made and without expressing any opinion on the merits of the case, this Court directs the Superintendent of Police,
Dhenkanal (opposite party no.3) to take a decision on the grievance petition under Annexure-2 series in accordance with law keeping in mind the
decision of the Hon’ble Supreme Court in the case of Lalita Kumari Vs. State of U.P. & Others reported in AIR 2014 SC 187 within a period of
four weeks from the date of production of copy of this order, if in the meantime the same has not been disposed of. The petitioner is directed to supply
copies of the complaint petition under Annexure-1 series and the grievance petition under Annexure-2 series to opposite party no.3 while presenting a
copy of this order. The petitioner be communicated with the result of such exercise.
The CRLMP is accordingly disposed of.

prescribed vide Court’s Notice No.4587 dated 25.03.2020 read with Notice No.4798 dated 15.04.2021 issued by the Registrar General of this
