Prashant Kumar, J.—This application has been filed for a direction commanding the respondents to install pre-payment meter in the premises of petitioner as per Section 47(5) of the Electricity Act, 2003. Petitioner further prays that respondents be restrained from compelling the petitioner to deposit the additional security amount. The issue involved in this case has already been decided by this Court vide order dated 2.7.2015 in W.P.(C) No. 6227 of 2011, wherein it has been held that if any consumer give option for supply of electricity through pre-payment meter, then the licensee have no right to demand additional security amount from the consumer.

In view of the aforesaid decision, I direct the respondents to install pre payment meter in the premises of petitioner as per Section 47(5) of the Act, read with second proviso to Clause 10.1 of the Electricity Supply Regulation Code, 2005.

Till the installation of pre-payment meter, respondents are restrained from demanding additional security money from petitioner as per Section 47(1) of the Act. With the aforesaid observation and direction, this application is disposed of.
