The petitioner submits that he is an Advocate and he along with one Rishi Chandan was engaged as legal expert on payment of lumpsum amount of Rs.98,000/- per month for a period of six months by the Department of Scheduled Tribe, Scheduled Caste, Minority and Backward Class Welfare, Government of Jharkhand vide order as contained in memo no.1051 dated 4th May, 2023 issued under the signature of the Under Secretary of the said department.

According to the petitioner, he provided his services in terms with the aforesaid order for about one month. Subsequently, vide office order as contained in memo no.1235 dated 1st June, 2023, engagement of the petitioner as well as one Rishi Chandan was put to an end. Though the petitioner provided his services in terms with the order dated 4th May, 2023, he has not been paid his engagement fee.

Having heard the petitioner and learned counsel for the respondents, without entering into claim of the petitioner, he is given liberty to prefer a fresh representation on the present issue before the respondent no.2. On receipt of the representation, the said respondent after providing opportunity of hearing to the petitioner shall take an appropriate informed decision within four weeks from the date of filing of the representation. If the respondent no.2 finds that the petitioner had provided his services in terms with the engagement order dated 4th May, 2023, his admissible engagement fee shall be released in his favour within two weeks thereafter.

The writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of.
