Judgment
Gurvinder Singh Gill, J
Petitioners Simranjit Kaur and Pawan Kumar have averred that they have married against wishes of respondents No.4 to 7, who are members of family of petitioner No.1. The petitioners have annexed copies of their Aadhar Cards indicating that they are aged 20 years and 22 years.
The petitioners apprehend threat to their life and liberty at the hands of respondents No.4 to 7 and thus seek issuance of appropriate directions.
The petition is disposed of with a direction to respondent No.2-Senior Superintendent of Police, Nawanshahr, to look into the representation Annexure P-5 made by petitioners, in accordance with law, immediately upon receipt of certified copy of this order. In case any apprehension of threat to the life and liberty of the petitioners is found, requisite steps be taken immediately, in accordance with law, to protect life and liberty of the petitioners.
It is, however, made clear that this order shall not be taken to be an expression as regards validity of the alleged marriage of the parties.
