T.R. Ramachandran Nair, J.—The petitioner retired from service of the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation as a Conductor on 31-03-2010.

The main prayer of the petitioner is for a direction to the respondent to disburse pensionary benefits including DCRG and Commuted Value of Pension to meet the expenses for his treatment.

The petitioner is stated to be a cardiac patient and is under treatment in Lakeshore Hospital at Ernakulam. Ext.P1 is a copy of the discharge summary and bill dated 22-05-2008. It is pointed out that the petitioner has a loan liability in the Kerala State Transport Workers'' Co-operative Society and that he has no other means for meeting the expense for his treatment.

The retirement benefits are being disbursed by the Corporation in the light of the direction issued by a Division Bench of this Court in W.A. No. 289/2001, wherein it is specified that the same will be disbursed strictly on the basis of the date of retirement unless otherwise the order of this Court. If actually the petitioner is undergoing treatment for cardiac problems, he may have to meet various expenses for the same.

Therefore, there will be a direction to the respondent to conduct an enquiry in the matter and disburse the retirement benefits to the petitioner within a period of two months from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.

The writ petition is disposed of as above.
