Judgment
Antony Dominic, J.—In response to a notification issued by the Public Service Commission inviting applications for the post of Lecturer in Botany under the collegiate Education Department, Petitioner submitted her application. She qualified in the written test. Thereafter she was called upon to produce an equivalency certificate that the Ph.D in Biotechnology obtained from the Kerala University being equivalent to Ph.D Degree in Botany. Thereupon, she submitted Ext.P7 application to the Vice Chancellor of the Kerala University. Orders were not passed and it was complaining of delay on the part of the University the writ petition No. 586/2011 was filed.
During the pendency of that writ petition, since the equivalency certificate claimed by the Petitioner has been declined, she again filed W.P. No. 1975/2011.
It is now pointed out that during the pendency of these writ petitions, the M.G University have issued an equivalency certificate dated 27.1.2011 and that the Petitioner has produced the said certificate before the Public Service Commission on the same day itself. Now that such a certificate has been obtained and is stated to have been produced before the Public Service Commission, it is not necessary for this Court to go into the contentions raised in these writ petitions.
Taking into account the submissions made, it is directed that if as stated by the Petitioner, the equivalency certificate obtained by her has been produced before the Public Service Commission and if the certificate has been received, on the production of a copy of this judgment along with a copy f the writ petition, the Public Service Commission shall consider the equivalency certificate and take a decision on the claim of the Petitioner for inclusion in the final rank list for the post of Lecturer in Botany under the Collegiate Education Department.
Petitioner shall produce a copy of this judgment along with a copy of the writ petition before the Public Service Commission for compliance.
Writ petition is disposed of as above.
