In wake of onslaught of COVID-19, lawyers have been advised to refrain from coming to the Courts.

Counsel for the petitioner was, therefore, contacted on his mobile and asked as to whether petitioner’s application for conversion is still pending.

Mr. Manoj Purohit, learned counsel for the petitioner, submits that the same is pending consideration; that the petitioner has deposited the requisite

amount in this regard; and despite repeated representations being made by the petitioner, no order on his application has been passed.

Learned counsel further informs that this Court has been pleased to dispose of identical matters, one of which is S.B. Civil Writ Petition

No.2672/2020 [M/s. Hanuman Salt Works Vs. State & Ors.] and requests that the present writ petition be also disposed of in the same terms.

In view of the aforesaid and upon perusal of the record of the case, this Court deems it appropriate to direct the petitioner to submit a

representation before respondent No.7, indicating the factum of pendency of his application for conversion.

The petitioner may also furnish a copy of the order instant to the authority, before whom his application for conversion is pending. The competent

authority is directed to decide petitioner’s application in accordance with law within a period of four weeks from placing copy of the order instant.

The respondent No.7, who has issued the impugned notice, shall keep the proceedings in abeyance for a period of six weeks and shall thereafter

pass a final order appropriately considering the fate of petitioner’s application for conversion.

With these observations, the writ petition so also the stay application stands disposed of.
