Ashwin Abraham and Others vs The University of Calicut and The Controller of Examinations

T.R. Ramachandran Nair, J.—The petitioners are students of MES College of Engineering, Kuttippuram for B.Tech Information Technology Engineering Degree Course. They have appeared for the 4th Semester regular examination conducted by the University during the month of June, 2009 and the result of the said examination was published during the first week of April, 2010. The petitioners have failed in the paper on EIT 404 (Microprocessor Based Design). They have applied for revaluation of the above paper on 17.4.2010. Herein, the prayer is for a direction to the University to complete the revaluation and inform the results to the petitioners within a time limit fixed by this Court.

Heard learned Standing Counsel for the University. It is submitted that sufficient time may be granted to complete the process of revaluation and inform the result to the petitioner.

There will be a direction to the University to complete the revaluation and inform the result to the petitioners within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment, if the applications and the payment of fee are in order and if the petitioners have complied with all other formalities.

The writ petition is disposed of as above. No costs.
